MISSIONARY has now MOVED to FAC251 The Factory feat Sound Foundations
1995…Manchester was full of student nights, all playing the same tracks, picked up and spat straight out from Top of the Pops. At the same time, the Hacienda was pumping out House music… The world was watching Manchester. Ground Floor- is dedicated to Electro/ Electronica / Techno Middle floor – will still be hosted by our very own ****DEEP FRIED DJ**** spinning records that are a ‘Blast From The Past’ The Loft – Its all about DubStep, Bmore, Afro Beat, Balken, UK Funky, Kurudo, Cumbia, Dutch, Miami Bass, Fidget, Baile Funk, Grime and DnB
Students were second class citizens, pushed around and treated like cattle. 1995 saw the change. Enter two promoters, two people ready to fuse cool music, students, cheap drinks, and a good night out, midweek.
Immediately, it worked. A roadblock occurred week in and week out… every Tuesday. They changed the face of student nights and they went on to open Sankeys Soap, selling it in 2006 and helping to create the Warehouse Project.
The student nights carried on, changing venues a couple of times. But repeatedly finding themselves back at their spiritual home. Once called Paradise Factory, then called The Club, it now re-opens, by the team who originally gave the venue life. It couldn’t be more Manchester… more Factory (its a long story, Google it!).
